What's New!

Yep, having another person to write about has set our blog back WAAAAY farther than we wanted it to! Instead of trying to go back and fill in all of the blanks right away we've decided to start where we are right now and then back fill as we have time...

So, read about what we're up to now and then check below for links to past months that we've updated :-)

RummyCube

Once again we spent the day at Grandma Judy's :-) We played with puzzles and crayons and markers and we played Madeline's favorite game - RummyCube! No, she doesn't really know how to play, but she loves to line up all the numbers and show us how smart she is!

Bye-Bye Grandma Sonja

We had a great time with Grandma Sonja over the weekend, but it's time for her to go back to Indiana already :-( After breakfast this morning we took her back to the airport. Have a safe trip home and come to visit again soon!!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was daddy's birthday! We played all day and then went out for a special birthday dinner. When we got home we gave daddy his birthday pie! Peanut butter - his favorite :-) Madeline helped Daddy taste it. After she knew it was ok she let daddy taste it too - sooo good!!! Later that night Grandma Sonja read Madeline a few bedtime stories. We hope Grandma Sonja can come visit often!

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory

Today we went to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory with Grandma Sonja & Grandma Judy. We walked everywhere and saw all sorts of animals. We also got to plant a few acorns - I hope we can get them to grow! Madeline loved looking at the real animals but also got a kick out of this bronze turtle :-) After looking at the big fish in the aquarium we took a quick walk through the conservatory to look at all of the pretty flowers. We found one that had fallen on to the ground - it was such a pretty purple. Madeline also liked the yellow flowers. They had a craft area, so Madeline painted her very own flower pot! We'll have to get some flowers to plant in it :-) To end our trip we looked at all of the colorful fish in the coy pond. What a great day!

MN Children's Museum

Tonight Daddy, Mommy and Madeline went to the Children's museum with our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) class. Madeline got to do all sorts of new things. First we explored Sesame Street and Madeline played with a steel drum. Then Madeline entered a great play area where the sunflowers were huge and there were lots of fun toys to climb on. Next we went "underground", crawling through logs and giant ant tunnels. We even went sliding down a beaver dam. Next Madeline and Daddy did a little construction work and then we played in the water. The water was definitely her favorite part. We had a great time :-)

Our little grocery shopper...

Today Daddy got out the camera and captured Madeline doing her favorite thing... cleaning out our cupboards. She just loves to take everything out, line it up, and show us everything she found. Now we just have to teach her how to put it all away :-) I have a feeling she'll be a great help at the grocery store when she's a little older!

Is it Spring yet?

So far we have had an unusually cool, rainy, SNOWY, spring. Today it got up to 55 degrees and the sun came out so we headed straight for the park! Madeline had a great time crawling through the green tunnels, peek - I see you! climbing up the stairs, and the ladder, going down the slides, and swinging. I think we'll be spending a LOT of time at the park this summer :-)

Baby Farm Animal at the MN Zoo

We just bought a year-round pass to the Minnesota Zoo and decided to take Madeline to see the Baby Farm animal exhibit. On our way to the farm animals we saw all sorts of other creatures! We spent some time looking for the Tiger... and finally found him! Then we continued our walk to the farm. Madeline fed the goats, and pet their babies. She also got got to pet all sorts of other baby animals...
a piggy,
some little chicks, a duckling, and a bunny! After a good hand washing we were hungry! We don't do fast food very often, but boy does she like it when we do!!! We can't wait for our next trip to the zoo :-)

First Day at Montessori School

Mommy decided to go back to work part-time so that means Madeline gets to go to school!
As soon as we got there she joined right in making puzzles...
She was so excited about the new fun things to do and all of the new kids to play with that she barely even noticed that mommy was leaving. She had a great day, but was excited to see mom later that afternoon. We hope every day goes as good as this first one :-)

Watch our new house being built!
