Great-Grandma Shirley's

Last night Madeline, Mommy & Daddy flew from St. Paul, MN to Pittsburgh, PA. For the first part of our trip we are staying with Daddy's grandma Shirley. Grandma & Grandpa Frantz were there too! Madeline made herself at home in Great-Grandma Shirley's salon chair :-) And had a great time exploring the whole house! She got to play with Grandpa and showed Grandma Frantz how smart she was by pointing out Grandma's nose! Madeline loves shoes and just had to show her's to Great-Grandma Shirley. It's so great to see everyone again!

Christmas Outfit!

The day after Thanksgiving Mommy, Aunt Melanie and Grandma Judy got up at 4am to go shopping and Aunt Melanie just had to buy Madeline her Christmas dress :-) So, today Mommy got Madeline all dressed up to take some pictures... The outfit came complete with shoes, and a coat! After all the pictures, Madeline got comfortable in her jeans and her "Naughty or Nice" T-Shirt and danced to Christmas music :-) So much fun!

Macy's Holiday Display

Every year Macy's (the old Dayton's) in downtown Minneapolis transforms their 8th floor into an amazing holiday display. Mommy used to go and see it when she was a little girl and this year Madeline, Mommy and the Miriovsky girls all went to see it. This year the theme was The Nutcracker. Madeline loved seeing all of the moving displays! After we were through with the display, Julie took Lauren to see Santa while Madeline, Kate & Ellen caught up with each other :-) What a fun day! We'll be sure to go back next year!!!

Thanksgiving

Today was Thanksgiving and we had everyone to our apartment to celebrate! Grandma Judy, Aunt Melanie, Great-Grandma Jen, Great-Uncle Marv & Great-Aunt Kim were all here. We ate turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, green bean casserole, cranberries & pumpkin pie - all the good stuff :-) Madeline tried everything!
Mommy was so busy cooking that she forgot to take pictures :-( We'll have to take extra pictures next year to make up for it!

Madeline's First Steps!!!

Tonight after her bath and after her PJ's were on Madeline took her first steps!!!
OK they weren't her very first steps - she was taking about 2 or 3 steps for the past month or so, but this was the first time she walked! After our initial shock and excitement we got out the video camera captured her first cruise :-)

Lucky Girl

If you didn't already know, Mommy is a HUGE Vikings fan and today the whole family got to go to the Viking's game at the Metrodome in Minneapolis (Thanks Dave!).
So, of course, Mommy and Madeline got all dressed up, Viking's horns and all :-) They played the Oakland Raiders and won :-)
Mommy grew up in Minnesota and didn't get to go to a Vikings game until she was 26 years old! Madeline isn't even 1 1/2 and she's already got to go - what a lucky little girl!

It's Snowing!

We knew when we moved to Minnesota that there would be a lot more snow during the winter and we couldn't wait for the first flakes to fall! Well, a few flakes have already fallen, but this was the first time there was actually enough to see it on the roof tops :-) It only stayed around for about half an hour, but we made sure we got a picture!
This is Madeline sitting on the window sill of our 4th floor apartment... We can't wait for more snow so we can go outside and play!

Where are Madeline's...

Well, we've been in the apartment for about 1 week now. It has been great so far! Madeline gets a lot more time with her daddy now that we're so much closer to his work. That's more time for playing and more time for reading books (Madeline's favorite thing to do!). With all the books we read it's been easy to teach her all about colors, numbers, shapes, animals and all sorts of other things. She's gotten really good at pointing out different parts of her body. Tonight we captured her expertise on video...

We have one smart cookie on our hands! We can't wait until she starts talking and being able to say all the things she knows instead of just pointing to them. She already says "na-na" for banana and "boo" for blue. It won't be long now...!
