On You're Marks - Get Set - Start Packing!

We had a lot of showings for the house this past weekend so we held off on the packing to make sure the house still looked nice. We started packing today and began to realize that we have a lot of stuff!
Since Madeline just figured out how to creep, it's been a challenge to keep her out of trouble while we we pack.
So, the jumper and the laundry basket have really helped :-)

Good-Bye Enchanted Care

Today was Madeline's last official day at Enchanted Care :-(

Madeline made so many friends here, that it was really hard to say good-bye to everyone. Madeline's teachers are really going to miss her...

Ms. LeaAnna All of the her other friends were sleeping when we came to pick her up so we are going to come back next week to get pictures and say good-bye one last time before we head to Minnesota!

Party Time!

Today we drove all the way to Indy for Eric (Stinson) & Nancy's housewarming party. The party came at a perfect time, because it gave us an opportunity to say good-bye to all of our friends in Indianapolis before our big move to Minnesota.
It was pretty warm out, but we still had to wear our sweatshirts! The bright green of Tracey's sweatshirt went great with Madeline's bright pink :-) Madeline got to meet all sorts of new people. Mom & Dad weren't so good at taking pictures of everyone, but she enjoyed playing with Xander Scioldo (John & Joni's little boy) & meeting new baby Victoria Grace Kiger - Hannah & Jeremy were so happy to show her off for the first time!

It was so nice to spend the day outside - she even got to enjoy her bottle in the great outdoors :-) All in all it was a great day!

House for Sale

Today we met with our realtor & put our house on the market! Hopefully we can beat the odds and it doesn't take too long to sell...

Surgery

Most people didn't notice, but Madeline was born with a little extra piece of skin near her left ear. The doctor's say that these "skin tags" are just as common as any other birth mark.

Since it was located near her ear we took her to an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist to have a look. He said that it had absolutely no effect on her hearing so it would be perfectly OK to have it removed any time after she was 6 months old.

So, we made an appointment and the surgery was this morning.

She got to put on some really cool hospital PJ's and they gave her a brand new rattle to play with!Here's the "before" photo: They had to put her to sleep with some anesthetics (so she wouldn't move her head). Of course Mom & Dad were worried, but the whole surgery took less than 1/2 an hour and she did great! Only a few stitches and some steri-strips. No crying at all - just the same smiles we're used to :-) Once we got home we took the official "after" photo:We'll take more pictures in a week or two, once everything is healed.
Dr. Weit did a great job!

It's Official...

Well it's official, we both put in our resignation at Honda R&D today and let Enchanted Care know that Madeline will be leaving in 2 weeks.
It's exciting and scary all at the same time. We'll definitely miss all the people we've met here, but hopefully the move will give us more time with our family.
Now it's time to start the moving process... so much to do in such a short amount of time!

Madeline's New Tent

This afternoon we ventured outside to do a little yard work and Madeline got to try out her new tent! We just love this mini version of a grown up tent :-) It's perfect for keeping Madeline out of the sun. Plus it's a great travel bed - so easy to take with us when we have to spend the night away from home!

Dad got his car running today too! Both Dad and Madeline were happy about that :-)

Going to the Zoo!

Madeline's favorite book is called "Madeline Loves Animals". This morning Aunt Alyssa read it to her. Then we all went to the zoo to see the animals up close! We saw a komodo dragon, a big furry ape and something called a Duiker! Our favorite was the momma ape carrying her baby on her back! After a couple hours of animal watching Madeline was completely exhausted - we'll have to come back later to see all of the other animals we missed :-)

So, today we decided to let her try and eat one on her own without mashing it up first. It was quite messy, but she thoroughly enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is Daddy's birthday! We made him a peanut butter pie - his favorite :-) After he made a wish, Madeline tried to help him blow out the candles! Then he opened up his gifts. He really liked the new craftsman tool Madeline got him :-)
