Most people didn't notice, but Madeline was born with a little extra piece of skin near her left ear. The doctor's say that these "skin tags" are just as common as any other birth mark.
Since it was located near her ear we took her to an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist to have a look. He said that it had absolutely no effect on her hearing so it would be perfectly OK to have it removed any time after she was 6 months old.

So, we made an appointment and the surgery was this morning.
She got to put on some really cool hospital PJ's and they gave her a brand new rattle to play with!
Here's the "before" photo: 
They had to put her to sleep with some anesthetics (so she wouldn't move her head). Of course Mom & Dad were worried, but the whole surgery took less than 1/2 an hour and she did great! Only a few stitches and some steri-strips. No crying at all - just the same smiles we're used to :-) 
Once we got home we took the official "after" photo:
We'll take more pictures in a week or two, once everything is healed.
