What's New!
Yep, having another person to write about has set our blog back WAAAAY farther than we wanted it to! Instead of trying to go back and fill in all of the blanks right away we've decided to start where we are right now and then back fill as we have time...
So, read about what we're up to now and then check below for links to past months that we've updated :-)
Lately Madeline has had some some pretty cool hair-dos, especially after she's had her hair in a ponytail on top of her head all day...
even when the ponytail holder comes out her hair still stands straight up!
We've been continuing with the potty chair and she's really good about going before and after her naps. We've also noticed that we can tell when she's about to dirty her diaper. So, we thought if we catch her before she goes, we could get her to go on the potty. We finally caught her today and she went!
She gave mom a big high five when she was done :-)
Everyone was eating corn on the cob for dinner tonight. We tried to cut some off for Madeline, but that wasn't good enough - she wanted to eat it like to grown-ups! So, Daddy shared his :-)
She loved it!
Today we went out for lunch with Great Grandma Deutsch.
Great Grandma was amazed at how well Madeline sat in her high chair and ate her grilled cheese and pickles! We had fun, we'll have to go out for lunch with Great Grandma more often :-)
A lot of people might think we're crazy to be trying this already, but Grandma Judy said mom was potty trained by the time she was 18 months old! We're not really being too serious about it, but if she wakes up from her nap dry, we going to try to put her on the potty. Today was the first time we tried it and it worked - she went right away! She has no clue what she did, but she likes how excited we got and clapped for herself right along with us :-)
There's no way she can tell us when she needs to go, but we figure the more she does it, the more she'll get used to it and eventually she'll be able to tell us when she has to go. For now we'll just put her on every once in a while - it can't hurt to start early and since mom isn't working right now, we have the perfect opportunity to start practicing :-)
