Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Frantz Family website. We hope this will help keep everyone up-to-date with all of the fun things we've been up to :-)
What's New!
Yep, having another person to write about has set our blog back WAAAAY farther than we wanted it to! Instead of trying to go back and fill in all of the blanks right away we've decided to start where we are right now and then back fill as we have time...
So, read about what we're up to now and then check below for links to past months that we've updated :-)
Madeline's first birthday! Even though the official birthday party won't be until next Friday (when the whole family can be here), she still opened a few presents today that were sent to her in the mail. As we expected, she seemed to like the wrapping paper and ribbons better than the actual gifts :-) Grandma Judy sure liked watching her open her gifts :-) After opening gifts we went to cousin Kevin's high school graduation party. They live on a farm with cows! Madeline thought the cows were quite interesting :-) Then we ate some cake. It wasn't official birthday cake, but it was cake all the same - Madeline loved it and dove right in! We're sure she can't wait for her own birthday cake next Friday :-)
Another perfect evening to play outside! Madeline loves finding sticks and leaves and rocks to play with :-) Daddy watches closely to make sure she doesn't try to eat all of her new "toys" :-)
Madeline loves it when Daddy gets home from work. They always play from the time he gets home to the time she goes to bed (taking a short break for dinner) :-) Dad loves to make her hair all spiky!
It was so nice out today - perfect for Father's Day! We went to downtown Minneapolis for an art festival. We saw all kinds of neat things and ate all kinds of new foods! Madeline and Daddy sure had a good time :-)
Today was our cousin Gretchen's wedding. Before we left we ate some lunch and Madeline seemed extraordinarily excited about eating - she even pointed to her new tooth :-) Then she did her new "thing"... when she's done eating she pushes away from the table and puts her feet up.It's kind of cute right now, but I'm sure it won't be in a week or two when we can't get her to stop...
Anyway, after lunch we put on her dress and headed to the wedding. No pictures of Madeline and the bride, but here is one of her and cousin Katie :-)
Madeline had a rough night last night. She was up 3 or 4 times, just crying. We didn't know what was wrong because she hardly ever wakes up in the middle of the night. This morning we noticed she had a little bit of a fever and we thought, maybe she's finally starting to get her first tooth??? Well, we finally convinced her to let us feel inside her mouth and sure enough, we felt her first tooth! It's barely visable, so no pictures yet, but I'm sure we'll be able to post one soon! In the mean time here is one of our feverish little angel :-)
Madeline has definitely mastered the art of crawling. She gets from here to there so fast! She even plays a game with us where she starts crawling away, then looks back to see if we're following. If we are watching, she turns and crawls away as fast as she can, just giggling.
Aunt Melanie graduated from High School today! We all went to the high school gym to watch the big event. Afterwards we took tons of pictures :-) Melanie's Godmother, Diane, came all the way from Chicago. Congratulations Aunt Melanie!!!
Aunt Melanie is graduating from High School next Friday and today they had a special Mass for her at church. Madeline snuggled Melanie after church and then took a nice picture with Aunt Melanie and Grandma Judy.
When Aunt Melanie went to Florida a few months ago, she bought Madeline a pink Princess dress at Disney World. Madeline loves all of the ruffles on the dress. She also loves it when Daddy takes her "Flying". So, when Grandma Judy & Dave were out and about today and saw these little fairy wings, they knew they were just perfect for our little flying princess :-) I bet we'll get more use out of these around Halloween!
Today Madeline had lasagna for the first time - she loved it! After getting all messy with the lasagna, she had some applesauce for dessert - her favorite :-) What a mess! But she cleans up pretty well :-)
Mommy mopped the kitchen floor today, so of course Madeline had check out how shiny it was! it was pretty slippery, so she fell on her tummy as soon as she started crawling on it - but, as you can see it didn't seem to bother her one bit :-)
